A blast of winter-like weather this evening.

———————————————————————
==discussion==
A vigorous cold front will sweep across the South Coast this evening
delivering strong winds and unseasonably cold air. Snow levels are
dropping to a few hundred metres above sea level with the approach of
the front. Local snowfall accumulations are likely above 300 metres
over the South Coast tonight and Saturday morning. The cold air will
be ushered in by a blast of strong northwest winds. Peak gusts up to
80 km/h are expected.

The cold and unstable air mass following the front will lead to
highly variable weather conditions on Saturday. Scattered showers
mixed with flurries could be accompanied by small hail, lightning and
even the odd sunny break.

The same front will produce heavy snow over mountain passes leading
to the interior.
