Beautiful, warm and hopefully less smoky week! Fire Danger going back to Extreme.

We are starting the morning with some low cloud but don’t let that get you down!

The clouds should burn off fairly quickly this morning and reveal a beautiful clear blue sky.

We might have a little bit of wildfire smoke drifting down from the North Island and that is keeping the Smoke Advisory in place, particularly for northern areas of our area, but we should have good air quality here in town.

Air Quality has improved quite a bit all across the province actually, which is a wonderful thing.

Only Victoria and a few spots in the Interior have slightly elevated PM2.5 levels this hour.

The Wildfire danger picture has also improved markedly thanks to the cooler weather and rain over the weekend.  Much of the Island is at Moderate or High.

However, conditions are expected to ratchet up quickly with the Alberni Valley (Beaver Creek) forecast to be going back to Extreme today.

As for the actual forecast, expect mostly sunny skies with morning clouds right through until Saturday.  It’s Salmon Festival/Labour Day weekend! The weather looks fine for it as well!

Have a great week!
