Once the fog burns off this morning we will officially be back into a sunny and warm pattern for the foreseeable future.

The GFS model does not have any significant showers forecast for us all the way out to August 9th and temperatures are to stay in the mid-to-high twenties with shots at 30 now and then.

The first shot at 30C will in fact be tomorrow, Wednesday.

Not much else to say. Stay safe out there! Remember campfires are still permitted but the forest is continuing to dry out so please be careful, bring lots of water with you to put out any campfires, and report any fires you do see to 1-800-663-5555 or *5555 from a cellular phone.

The Fire rating is currently Moderate but is forecast to rise to High on the 25th. (see “Beaver Creek”). If the dry and warm weather continues through to August 9th as forecast then I would say its a safe bet campfires may be banned by August long weekend and the fire rating will be at Extreme.

Have fun!

Oh… and if you’re not sure what fun things there are too do check this out courtesy of the City of Port Alberni, Chamber of Commerce and Alberni Valley Tourism:
