Summery Friday

I am still struggling to find a spot in my new working from home routine for weather blogging. I apologize that the posts have been so infrequent.

We got up to 29°C on Thursday! Not shabby at all. Expect to not quite reach that Friday but it should still be a very pleasant 25°-26°C and maybe hotter in some select spots.

Saturday is a split

The weather on Saturday will be difficult to predict and very different for folks on South a vancouver Island versus central and north VI.

Moisture will be moving up from the south and reach the south tip of the Island Saturday afternoon. Here is the progression from the 2-5PM period to 11PM-2AM.

The very sharp line of the band of moisture never seems to reach further west than Cowichan Lake and Nanaimo. Port Alberni, Parksville and Courtenay are spared.

That said, this is an intense system and could produce heavy winds and thunderstorms for regions in Washington State especially and perhaps into Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.

The rain is expected to move off the Island well before sunrise Sunday so we should have a nice dry day again on Sunday and into Monday.
