Alberniweather goes Under the Sea with the Mackerel

We were down at the Harbour Quay on Saturday evening and saw lots of people trying to catch some of the hundreds of Mackerel that have invaded the inlet.

There are dozens swimming around in schools. It’s quite something. You can actually see them very close to the surface! So Theresa gave me a fantastic and fun idea, why not film them with the GoPro that I normally use for my webcam! It comes with a waterproof housing… All I needed to do was rig it up to a fishing rod.

And so… I give you… swimming with the fishes off the beautiful new pier in Alberni Harvour. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmS4SL9APiU

Enjoy. Oh and make sure you view it in HD! It really benefits from the 1080p!

  1. I was expecting you to wing that thing out like you were casting, then slowly reel it back in. Or is the unit not robust enough to do that? Anyway, some cool video there. Kinda gives me some ideas for FPV on my R/C barge (whenever I get that going!)
