Like many of you, I got my BC Hydro bill this week.

So the question immediately on my mind was…. DID MY SOLAR PANEL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!?

Well, actually. I think it did. Small, yes, but noticeable.

Here’s my consumption over the past few years, this year was lowest of all (23kWh/day average, 1392kWh total) for this period. Which is surprising considering the weather in July especially.

My Solar PV production over the same time was around .350kWh daily average and 18.2kWh

So the solar panel ‘offset’ about 1.3% of the electricity that I used, worth $1.21. From another perspective, it saved me just over 1/2 a days worth of average electricity use for my home.

PS: Can you tell when we got rid of our oil furnace? 🙂
