Port Alberni escapes most of the rain today — Snow possibilities Saturday and next Week

We seem to be getting spared the worst of the rain this morning as it is raining more heavily in Nanaimo and Parksville than it is in Port Alberni.

The UWash model predicted this last night:

However it will still probably drizzle most of the day even if the overall total is not great.

We should get another break on Thursday before a stronger system moves in on Friday during the day.

Significant rainfall on the West Coast for sure.

After Friday, things start to get interesting as there is a threat of colder temperatures.

Sunday morning the UWash is predicting near freezing temperatures.

And it will stay near freezing through Monday.

There are a couple of week rain systems that will come through Saturday and Sunday night that will surely drop snow at higher elevations and there is a good chance it might snow at lower elevations too depending how strong the cold push is.

So be prepared. This weekend might be the start!  And there is more possibility for snow on Wednesday/Thursday next week!
