Can expect lots of fog between… hopefully we get a little sun.

Update Friday 10:36PM: It’s been really interesting to watch the local satellite image… since about 5PM, there has been more and more light cloud cover appearing, and now there look to be some precip echoes on the radar in the Strait. Looks like it could be “lake effect” style snow. I’ll be surprised actually if we (Port) get any from it… we’re usually pretty sheltered but the East Coast could get a lot.

  2. ya i don’t know whats goin’ on there, i didnt change anything, so either they’re on the fritz, or they’ve changed the map or link on their end. I think though it’s a glitch on their end, their not inserting the sat image anymore.

  3. i just checked and it’s happening with all of the UCSD analysis images. Hopefully they’ll fix it soon.

  4. its kinda neat that way, but you dont see the cloud cover or the size of it, the other one with the temp. of the clouds always seems to be ahead of the other one i found

  5. ya, the one that’s broken right now only updates every 6 hours, where as the local satellite with cloud temps updates every hour

  6. Chris,

I see your getting a little snow – if I figured it right – 25 cm’s equals about 10 inches -predicted.
@ 1215 today the humps white and its coming down pretty good, maybe you will get that 10 inches of snow yet . Oh and Rick – I know driving trucks in the snow is a pain – that’s why they have parking lots — LOL – all in good fun – later

  7. ya… 40cm (over 12″) is predicted for some sections of the Island now, though I don’t think we’re going to be getting that in the Valley, they’re already well on their way in Campbell River and Courtney.
