Easter Weather Report!

Friday, April 10th, 2009

For the West Coast… it will be variable! Go figure, it’s Spring. :)

Hopefully the sun comes out just enough… like it is now… to at least go out and do some hunting for eggs. But you will definitely want to have your jacket on and umbrella at the ready!

Happy Easter Weekend everyone!

Site fixed… must be the Warm Weather!

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

So the site seems to have fixed itself… actually, I think it was my Energy Blog (which resides on the same server) that was causing the problems. I got an email from my webhost saying I was taking too much resources and could I please tone the data down a little. *teehee*. It seems to be happier now, I haven’t received any failed loading messages for a long time. So either you guys have all left and I’m talking to myself, or it’s fixed.

Should be another hot one today! We got up to 23.1C yesterday! I believe Nick over by the Multiplex registered around 22C so it wasn’t just me up on the ladder with the blow dryer.

We’ll get a little more cloud and normal temperatures after today, so make sure you get out and enjoy it!

Intermittent alberniweather loading…

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

My apologies. Over the past few weeks it seems as though the website has become a little less reliable in terms of loading? At least that’s the impression I’m getting from my email logs I automatically get when some enters and can’t load any data?

Is this peoples experience?

I suspect it is, and so I’m going to take steps to fix things but it will take me a little time to implement. Probably a couple weeks. Until then, my apologies for the intermittent-ness of the website. All I can say is, as the “webmaster”, it really bugs me! (and I blame it mainly on switching to Shaw instead of Telus… but that’s another debate entirely).

On the good news side though… get ready for some real spring-like weather! Very nice mid-teens temperatures look set to come our way! I think that is good enough to make this the first (intentional ;) ) “HOT” post of the year!

A little wet white stuff.

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

Just took the dog outside and got pelted with some wet snow. Be careful if you’re going up the hump today, might be a little slippery in the morning, but it should turn to rain by mid-morning.

After today, the forecast doesn’t look too shabby for a few days… but there *is* some significant precipitation in the long range models for late next week. And yes… still cool! So don’t take those winter tires off yet!

UPDATE: From Murkyview.com

A new entry at the National Snow and Ice Data Center out of Colorado is out and the news is that even with this years La Nina induced cold temperatures in parts of North America, the trend of diminishing Arctic sea ice shows little sign of abating.
