I’m back, it’s cold!

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

So I’m back. You might be wondering what it was like being in a Tropical Storm. Well, unfortunately (sort of) it didn’t make it all the way up to Puerto Vallarta. The only effect we saw was overcast skies and tropical rain on the Saturday and Sunday and some very large swells on the water!

Those were definitely the most impressive. We were on the beach the last night watching them. You’ll like these pics. :)

Uhoh…
Uhoh

Run!
Run!

That was about an 8 ft wave breaking 40ft away and 4ft below my 5ft 3in wife :)
It's big!

Norbert to the Left of me and Odile to the South!

(sorry, my “see” key is not working right now… bear with me. :) )

We’re gettin’ out of here just in time!
Tropial storm Odile is going to be Hurriane Odile by tomorrow and it’s headed right up the oast towards us! We fly out on Sunday morning. Just as it should be sending its first winds towards us! Phew!

UPDATE, I’m in a Tropical Storm!

I’m officially under the influence of a Tropical Storm Odile! It’s spinning to the south of us. Luckily it is no longer headed directly to Puerto Vallarta, but will instead curve Westward out to sea tomorrow. Or at least that’s the forecast. We have major sea swells here today, probably from Norbert which is hitting the Baja as a strong Cat 2 and we should get lots of rain from Odile tonight. Hopefully it doesn’t hit these folks too hard. The vast majority of people here have no idea there is even a chance of a Tropical Storm and even if they were would have nowhere to go!
