Hurricane Norbert! Trying to make my vacation extra interesting!

I’m such a weather geek. I almost exclaimed with glee when I saw the satellite this morning of Hurricane Norbert!

And then I realised, it’s slated to intensify into a Cat 4 and hit near Cabo San Lucas… get out of Norberts way!

The center is a good 700km away from Puerto Vallarta (up in the top right corner). But we should definitely get some waves/sea swell from it in a day or two and possibly some bands of showers if it revs up more.

I heard Norbert is headed for Baja California in the next 24hrs. A little closer than you want, maybe?

Luckily it looks like PV is going to miss any chance of TS force winds. The biggest effect to our vacation looks to be maybe a bumpy ride into Phoenix for our stopover on the way home. But other than that, it’s just going to be a bit of thundershowers for us.

I’ll have to check out the wave forecast for tomorrow.
