Heat it up!

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

Look at that Satellite picture! If I didn’t know better (and I don’t :P ) I’d say that looks like real summer like ridge of high pressure that’s gonna bring us a little warm air on Saturday!

It hit 15C here Thursday… can I get a 19 for Saturday?!

Youtube Movies improved, forecast still down

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

It’s a good news bad news story…

The Bad News is that the forecast on the frontpage here is still offline, EnvCan really threw me a curveball so I’m having to do some serious re-coding to get it to work again.

The Good News is that I’ve changed slightly how I create movies from the webcam, resulting in much improved videos at YouTube. (www.youtube.com/alberniweather).

The Other good news is that the forecast is calling for 16 or 17 degrees on Saturday!! Growing up, I always looked for the first day that the news guy said it might hit 20 degrees… then I knew for sure that summer was coming and school would be over soon!

Forecast offline

Monday, April 7th, 2008

Hi everyone… looks like Environment Canada has change the structure of their forecast page today, which caused the forecast on my page to go wonky. I’ve turned it off temporarily until this evening when I can take a look at it. Until then, you’ll have to use the links to get the latest forecasts.

Thanks!

Chris

April Showers

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

They’ll come eventually… but until they do. I’m liking Spring so far!

Glad people like the new view from the camera. The Sun is finally high enough in the sky that I could bring the camera out of its winter shelter without getting any more burn in streaks into the image.

Looks like the Spring and Fall Equinox will be an easy way for me to remember when the camera needs to be moved.

March Monthly Webcam is online

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

March was quite the month! Hopefully it’s the last one with snow on the roof in front of the camera. Some great shots in there… and even got a little bit of the moon passing by as well.

Check it out at Youtube, or click here and find the high quality version in the “monthly” folder.
