Semi-Sunny

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

We should get a little sun today like we did yesterday… and hopefully some nice temperatures on the weekend if it all shapes up nicely.

I’ll be doing a few more upgrades over the next few days as well.

Some upgrades

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

I’m going to be working on the site a little over the next few days, so if you notice any hiccups, don’t worry it’s just me fiddling.

UPDATE: I’ve added some new graphs. Weekly (7 Day) graphs are now available under

Weather Archive–> Station Almanacs –> 7 Day Charts.

Graph for Rain Rate (now under 24hr Graphs) and for Inside Data (Temp and Humid in my Living Room) are also now available.

UPDATE 2: EARTHQUAKE Not a very strong one, about 4.1 at 2:16PM PDT on Sunday according to the Earthquakes Canada website. It was 10KM underground about 150KM west of Vancouver Island. I’ve added a link to the earthquake sensor map for SouthWest BC. Click on “Single Station” and “ALB” to get the readings from the station (I believe it’s behind what was Gill Elementary). Look Under Forecasts & Reports.

If you were on the West Coat (Tofino, Bamfield, Ucluelet or similar) there is a slim chance you may have felt it.. if you did, you can send your report to the scientists through the Earthquakes Canada Website

UPDATE 3: More new graphs… monthly for all variables. I’ll be working on Year (365 days) graphs tonight.

Weather Archive–> Station Almanacs –> Monthly Charts.

Another day of oddness…

Monday, April 21st, 2008

Looks like it’ll be another weird day. There’s some snow coming down off Arrowsmith right now. Look forward to some warmer weather in the week though. Maybe we’ll see some temperatures back up in the high teens… I’m done with the snow! :)

Sorry Eve! But you should like this!

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

Sorry for writing a new post right after you commented Eve. :)

This weekend looks like a doozy! Possibility of a thunderstorm every day… showers or flurries… possible frost. Sun, Cloud, Rain.

Spring is here! It’s very windy in Victoria where I am now! Wind is whistling through the trees.

UPDATE: It’s SNOWING LIKE CRAZY down in Victoria… apparently they already have 6in in Nanaimo. Have 3in here in Langford. Here’s a video of the fun! It’s also on the Alberniweather Youtube page.

April Heat Wave

Saturday, April 12th, 2008

What’s the difference between a Heat Wave in April and one in August?

The one in April only lasts one day and barely breaks room temperature… :)
(My Wife said that joke wasn’t funny… tough crowd tough crowd.)

I’ve fixed the forecast as best I can for now. If the frontpage doesn’t look right to you, please notify me as it’s likely something weird with the forecast, but I’ve tested it as much as I can and it doesn’t seem to be affecting things anymore. I’ll try to get it more cleaned up towards the end of the weekend.

Have a great day! Time to do some gardening! Hoping for 19 today!

Chris
