Some Data delayed.
The current tabular data (current Temperature, wind, etc) may be delayed right now as an upgrade to the software is having some issues. The update fixed the delay in graphs udpates though, so the graphs are totally accurate, as are the “highs and lows” in the table.
Ah, the irony.
Saw this today at ViveLeCanada.ca
The CRTC-approved program will force all broadcasters to issue weather alerts during severe weather.
“You are going to have an automatic interruption of your TV and your radio and other technologies,” including cellphones, satellite TV and internet service, said Chuck Sanderson with Manitoba’s Emergency Measures Organization.
The national system will cost about $9 million
Looks like this afternoons sun is just a break between storms. Get ready for more rain tomorrow and through the week.
Just watching the late news, there is a Blizzard Warning for Snoqualmie Pass in Washington State for tomorrow! Very rare. They’re expecting very strong winds down there, heavy snow, heavy rain. Sounds pretty crazy! We’re not supposed to get quite the beating. But look at that barometer! It fell off a cliff earlier this evening. Definitely a strong system coming our way.
OK, not really… but David Wilchar was here this morning doing an interview for A-Channel. You can see it (if you promise to close your eyes when I’m on screen) probably tonight on Vancouver Island Report. David didn’t say exactly when.
Anyway, in the process of the interview I showed off the little weather server… and apparently wiggle the wires too much, unplugging one of them. So that’s why it’s been 5.5C all morning :).
It’s all fixed now…
Got some good gusts today! Plenty of rain too. EC called it pretty much dead on. 20mm rain and 60kph winds. Good going guys!
UPDATE 4:51PM: I just looked out my window here and up above our house the frontal system is passing. Beautiful contrast between light clouds on bottom, dark frontal clouds in the middle, a great wall stretching up and curling away into the blue sky behind.
aww, heck, I’ll just post a picture… click to see larger version:
